Art and Hershey race to get to the Da Nang Air Base before Zap can trigger explosions from the bombs planted there. Meanwhile, in a desperate attempt to save the orphanage before the Vietcong reach it, Lee and Captain Avigdor take Art’s rubber raft down the river. But after encountering enemy fire and rapids, they are thrown into the water and separated. Captain Avigdor makes it to shore, but Lee is stranded in the river. He manages to find a large floating log and lets the river carry him toward the orphanage. From the river, he finally sees the huts of the orphanage.
